Care for Gold-filled Jewelry
[1] Avoid contact with perfume, body lotion, sunscreen and any other chemical products
- Let your perfume or body lotion dry off before putting on your jewelry.
- Avoid excessive contact with sunscreen as the chemicals in most sunscreen can have harsh impact on the metals
[2] Store them in a cool, dry place, away from humidity.

[4] Avoid salt water and chlorine
[5] Dry them off with a dry cloth if you do shower with them
[6] Clean them occasionally with water and mild soap
Note: Gold-filled is a tarnish resistant material but it is not tarnish-proof.

<Facts you should know about Ethiopian opals>
1) Ethiopian opals also known as "hydrophane opals" are highly absorbent and changes colour after getting soaked in water.
By change of colour, it means the beautiful play-of-color it has will disappear temporarily.
The colour can be restored by letting them be fully dried naturally (AIR DRY).
*NOTE: DO NOT try to speed up the process by using a hair dryer or the hot sun, as extreme change in temperature can cause opals to crack.
2) Opals are relatively soft gemstones. Their rank on the Moh Scale of hardness is 5.5-6.5, with 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest. This means it can be scratched quite easily and needs to be handled with care.
Special Care for Ethiopian Opal Jewelry
[1] Keep Opals Dry (keep them away from water or liquid)
- Remove them when washing hands or taking a shower
- Keep them away from any activity that involves liquid or water
[2] Avoid getting in contact with liquid chemicals
Any liquid chemicals or oils like soap, shampoo, body oil, hand sanitizer, perfumes, hairspray, house cleaners can stain the opal permanently.
[3] Be gentle with your opals and handle them carefully.
it is recommended that you do not wear them for activities like gardening, sports, cleaning and any other manual labour as they can be scratched up by dirt particles or crack when subjected to any hard knocks.
[4] Gently clean opals with a dry clean soft cloth.
Do not clean them by soaking in a bowl of water.

Pearl is a delicate gemstone with a natural lustre. To prevent your pearl from losing its natural lustre and getting damaged, you will need to:

[4] Clean regularly by wiping with a damp cloth and drying after (recommended after each wear)
This prevents dirt from accumulating and protects the pearls from acidic sweat and chemical products.
- Wipe the pearl surface gently with a soft cloth. Do not scrub the pearl.
- Do not use hairdryer to dry the pearls as heat can damage them
